Lake
Manyara National Park is a scenic lake that made Ernest Hemingway exclaim
"the loveliest I had seen in Africa". Manyara provides the perfect
introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded,
and if your lucky, you can expect to see 100 of these in one day. Inland of the
floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favoured haunt of Manyara’s
legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants.

Conservation Area. This is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of
the Great Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal
point. It is not a national park in the strict sense of the word, but was
rather established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It exists
to safeguard the interests of indigenous people as well as promote tourism.
Thus, guests on safari have the unique experience of seeing Maasai herdsmen
with their cattles among the tremendous variety of wildlife found in the area.

6-7: Serengeti National Park
After

game drive en route via Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania’s oldest and most popular
national park. A UNESCO world heritage site and recently proclaimed 7th wonder
of the world, Serengeti is famed for its annual migration where some six
million hooves pound the open plains. Between July to October, witness an
actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through
crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produces more than 8,000 calves daily
before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.
Serengeti
offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you
upclose look of the animals you've only seen in National Geographic: great
herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of
eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle.
